About Arunda
Arunda formed in 2010 after studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Royal Northern College of Music and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Région de Marseille.
Passionate about promoting the diverse range of music available for reed trio, Arunda is constantly exploring new repertoire and enjoys bringing some of the lesser known works to the concert platform.
Arunda has performed at the St Magnus Festival in Orkney, the Music at Paxton Summer Festival of Chamber Music and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Recent engagements include performances at the Scottish Parliament and the Usher Hall, Edinburgh as part of the Emerging Artists: Sound Check series.
The trio is alumni of the prestigious Live Music Now! scheme, as founded by Yehudi Menuhin and also enjoy regular performances for the Music in Hospitals charity. They regularly give recitals across Scotland and beyond.
As well as being passionate about chamber music, the members of the trio are dedicated orchestral players and can often be seen playing with the leading Scottish orchestras such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra of Scottish Ballet. Members of the trio have shown their versatility by taking to the stage for some Musical Theatre or recording for bands such as Belle and Sebastian.
